Osage Shareholder AssociationAUGUST 2006 NEWSLETTER
It was noted that several of the members present did not have a
computer. Most of the community libraries have computers with Internet access for their members’ use. Ask your librarians for assistance. The next meeting for the Osage Shareholders Association, Inc. will be at 1:00 pm, Sunday August 20, 2006 at the Osage Cultural Center, 1449 W. Main, Pawhuska. Originally it was the American Legion Building and is on the east side of ALCO. Please bring a salad and/or a dessert to share with everyone. Beverages and tableware will be furnished.
Congressional members and Mineral Council members are invited.
There will be updates on the legal cases and discussions.
Chief Jim Gray called a meeting for all Osages on August 3 at the
Cultural Center in Pawhuska. Recently Chief Gray, Congressman Archie
Mason, and Mineral Councilman Robert Martin returned from meetings in
Washington, D.C. regarding the Cobell lawsuit.
Since taking office Jul 1, 2006, Congressman Eddy Red Eagle and
Congressman Raymond Red Corn have been keeping Osage citizens informed
about the Congressional activities.
Mr. Red Eagle has been sending e-mails and asking the receivers to
pass them on to their e-mail contacts. Mr. Red Corn has been very
responsive to queries and statements made on the OSA Discussion Board. The
computer using tribal members appreciate both gentlemen’s efforts. When space permits, excerpts from the OSA Website Discussion Board will be reprinted in the newsletters. The views expressed are the e-mail originators’ personal views and are included exactly as written. Links to the included postings: |
